Inspiring projects

Quartier des lumières

Located in the heart of Montreal, this redevelopment project of the former Radio-Canada building site is driven by a clear goal: to transform an iconic location into a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive neighborhood.

The Quartier des lumières embodies MACH's ESG vision on a large scale. Designed to meet the needs of both current and future communities, the Quartier des lumières offers a mix of uses—residential, commercial, cultural, and community—that enhances downtown vitality and promotes social cohesion. The integration of affordable housing, local businesses, green spaces, and human-scale infrastructure reflects our commitment to responsible urban planning.

The project also relies on exemplary environmental practices: site rehabilitation, energy-efficient buildings, responsible resource management, sustainable mobility, and increased greening. The Quartier des lumières master plan has earned the LEED v4 ND Platinum certification (LEED for Neighborhood Development), the highest recognition for sustainable neighborhood development projects.

By combining urban regeneration, ecological ambition, and social responsibility, the Quartier des lumières demonstrates our ability to build resilient living environments that are forward-thinking and deeply rooted in the Montreal community.

The EXAL real estate complexes

The EXAL project, developed by Groupe MACH in partnership with Construgep, embodies our commitment to sustainable and responsible real estate practices.

These rental residential complexes aim for LEED certification, demonstrating our commitment to minimizing the ecological footprint while providing a high-quality living environment.

From the design phase, eco-friendly measures were integrated, including ENERGY STAR windows with high thermal performance, superior insulation of the building envelope and roof, as well as the installation of low-flow water fixtures. A centralized heat pump and LED lighting also contribute to the overall energy efficiency of the building.

Beyond the environmental aspects, our EXAL buildings promote the well-being of their residents by offering common areas such as a fitness room, spaces for teleworking, a reception room, and a yoga studio. Additionally, a rooftop community garden encourages urban farming and strengthens community bonds.

This project reflects our integrated approach to social and environmental responsibility, aiming to create sustainable, inclusive living environments in harmony with the needs of local communities.
